Larry was working on re-roofing Achloa in Highland Perthshire. We got talking and he asked me what I was doing.
"Working for a charity now I'm retired"  I said.
"Having been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer about two years ago, I would be in a terminal care unit now, if I hadn't had a PSA test", I told him.

"Oh my Dad died from prostate cancer, he was only 49 and didn't smoke and hardly drank" Larry said.

"How old are you Larry?" I asked.

"51" he replied.

"Then do yourself and your family a favour and get tested and examined by your GP. Its your right when over 50 and this cancer is more likely to strike if its in your family. No-one yet knows what causes aggressive prostate cancer but if its caught early then there is a good chance that it can be treated and you'll die with it and not from it".

I heard from Larry subsequently and everything came out fine after he was PSA'd and DRE'd and he said he'd agreed with his GP to repeat the tests yearly
